My Experience
I'm Deidre Myers and my very supportive husband and I have been happily married for over 25 years. We now have three adult children.
After having a doula for my first child, I decided I would want one for my other two children as well. A doula was so helpful to my husband and I. She allowed my husband to be there emotionally. He was able to be by my side every step of the way, allowing both of us to be in the moment and stress free. My doula was able to handle all those things that my husband would have had to leave my side for. If there were any questions that we had about birth she was there to help answer those questions and she was able to be our advocate. Having a woman who had experienced birth herself and was an expert in pregnancy and delivery was such a comfort. I quickly realized that everyone should have that experience, as birth is one of the most precious and exciting times of life.
Soon after, I started to ask more about being a doula. I wanted to give others the same experience that I had. I attended my first birth ten years after my youngest was born. That mother was so incredibly thankful just for my presence, let alone the peace and comfort it gave her. I loved every moment of the process from the excitement of the months leading to the new baby’s birth to being part of the birth process. I enjoyed the gift of life and helping the mom through the pain to become elated with joy. It was through this experience that I knew I wanted to become a certified doula.
My Philosophy
I am thrilled to join you on this exciting journey of pregnancy and birth. Over 10 years ago I attended by first birth and decided I wanted to become a doula. I'm passionate about encouraging mothers to fulfill their dreams and desires throughout their pregnancy and birth. I believe in ongoing support through comfort, education, and advocacy. Every birth is different and unique. My goal is to provide individualized care to every women based on their needs and to make this adventure as enjoyable as possible.
My Services
I offer a range of services to support women and families throughout the pregnancy and childbirth journey. These include prenatal care, childbirth education classes, labor and delivery support, postpartum care, and lactation support. I also offer home birth services.
